Reading through the Pope’s remarks reminds me of the movie, “The Mission” and the struggle of between Imperial Christendom and the Jesuit order. It is one of those films that is a mirror for modern Western Christianity especially in the context of economics and immigration. I’m wondering if I will live long enough to hear an American President invoke God’s blessing for the entire world as well as our nation.
