Great Colbert Clip
Though I would not use the Divine name out of respect, this is a great bit that Colbert does from time to time. I found this particularly funny, and it helped me forget for a bit that my brand of Christian witness just lowered the requirements for ordination into Christian ministry by providing an alternative track to ordination that from what I can tell has not academic evaluation attached to it. One would think that given the amount of distrust that our leaders would want to have all the details hammered out before offering such a sweeping rewrite that provides so few details about the education of those wishing to serve in ordained ministry. My tone suggests where I stand on the issue, and in the sermon I offered at the recent ordination of Adam Frieberg you can find what I think is the best argument for the need for the MDiv standard for service in ordained ministry if one wishes to serve beyond the congregation that ordains him or her. More on that later.
