Why I Use the Term Plutocracy
So, following the election on Tuesday I noted on my twitter feed and on Facebook that a headline you would not read in the media is: Plutocracy Wins in America. For whatever reason working and downsized Americans need a scapegoat and the “elite” on the right, and they are white and elite (Rove, Army, Boehner, McConnell, Kochs, and anyone working on Fox) gave them any number as the cause for their problems. BIG money manipulated fear in a segregated society so that the many that are suffering will continue to serve the 1% of the wealthy. You are actually working for “the man” as an indentured servant and sadly much of Christianity is encouraging you to do so. Truthout posted an article that really gets to the point.
Tea Party Vows to Block Campaign Finance Reform
Thursday 04 November 2010
by: Zach Carter | The Media Consortium | News AnalysisAnonymous millionaires just helped elect dozens of ultraconservative congressional candidates, by pumping millions of dollars into national Tea Party organizations. And guess what’s at the top of the legislative to-do list for those same Tea Party groups? Blocking campaign finance reform legislation.
As Stephanie Mencimer explains for Mother Jones, one of the nation’s largest Tea Party organizations, the Tea Party Patriots, is already coming out guns-a-blazing against any lame duck effort to crack down on secret corporate spending in elections.
And with good cause. The Tea Party’s appeal, after all, is based on its populist, grassroots image. If anybody knew that secret right-wing millionaires were bankrolling the entire operation, the “movement” would lose its luster.
