Films by John Hughes

I just read that writer, director John Hughes died. I grew up during the early ’80’s, and am more a child of film than of books. Here is the list of Hughes films I’ve seen. It has me wondering how many films I’ve seen during my life, and what that adds to in 24 hr days. This would not include the films I have watched multiple times. The things you think about when you are unemployed.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (’86) – one of my top 5 all time favorites
Some Kind of Wonderful (’87) – the year I graduated TCU
Planes, Trains & Automobiles (’87) – favorite modern buddy flick
The Great Outdoors (’88)
Uncle Buck (’89) – favorite John Candy film
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (’89) – the year Lisa and I married, and one of the films we watch each year.
Home Alone (’90)
Dutch (’91) – the year I graduated from seminary & was ordained
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (’92)
Home Alone 3 (’97)
Vegas Vacation (’97)
